Performance Comparison
Within this performance comparison, FCPro will be compared with some of the leading
file comparison tools on the speed of byte-by-byte file comparison. To make sure
test results can better reflect comparison speeds of these programs, we
performed the test by comparing one file.

Test Description
 |
To avoid influence from the Windows file system cache, restart
computer and wait for 5 minutes after system startup completed before
testing each program. |
 |
For FCPro and Beyond
Compare, the timing functions included in these programs were used.
Timing for the other programs was carried out by a stopwatch. |
 |
Tests repeated three times for each program. The
averages were used as the final results. |

Conclusion
The above test results show, when comparing files on the same physical hard
disk, the performance of FCPro is well ahead. It's 4.6 to 5.9 times faster
than the other file comparison tools. When comparing files located on different physical hard
disks, the results are close, but FCPro is still 1.1 to 1.6 times faster than
the other file comparison tools. |
